OK, the media wants us to not believe the exit polls when they tell us Kerry won, but want us to beleive the same polls about red state moral values and family values and good Christian values, which we in the northeast and hollywood or cities are out of touch with. Us "liberals" supposedly don't get it and need the news media to tell us what the so-called red state majority thinks.

That is right, guys that make less than $7/hr don't want to unionize. It is like the elephants they train to obey the pull of the thinest little thread. What is more amazing is that rather than collectively shoot for $9/hr, they also don't want to be reimbursed for their milage! They may have just as well voted to work for free, right?

This bothers me more than Bush stealing another election, because it tells me that when my government imposes a curfew for everyone except those with "night work/travel" papers, it will be sold-- AND BOUGHT BY THE MASSES-- as "The Family Values Quality Time Act" to not just deter "terrorism" like nightly peace vigils and activist group meetings, but to promote family connections and values. If you oppose the curfew, you'll be "anti-family, pro-terrorist", and the sheep will eat it up and the media will shill it like Chris Mathews is selling this stolen election.

Didn't anyone catch "Hardball" and "Countdown" back-to-back? The contrast couldn't be greater. One guy telling us how the country is optimistic over the prospect of four more years in spite of the majority felling we're going in the wrong direction -- and my hat is off that asshole Howard Fineman for trying to sell us that line of shit without his head exploding from the volitile mix of lies in his head-- and that 80% of "us" beleive the election was on the up-and-up, while Olberman is at least covering the recount.

To my freinds in other countries, if you have a spare room I can cut the grass and paint cook and shine shoes and a little carpentry and tutor the kids in math and music and keep to myself. I'm kiding, for now.

Dick Morris, Obvious Lies, Fox News, and Fear of Truth

Lets see: before the pre-election Ossama Bin Ladin tape Dick Morris, the former adviser to politicians on "family values" that got out-ed by his dominatrix, said that Al Qaeda's silence leading up to the election was essentially a vote for Kerry. Many on the left in the US and around felt that Islamic terrorists wanted Bush to win because his actions since 9/11 have increased the commitment of their potential faithful and their recruiting. After the tape was broadcast on US tv, Morris said that the tape was an attempt by Bin Laden to get people here to vote for Kerry. Morris is not a journalist, he has become a "pundit". But, the Fox "news" network and journalists on the channel he was broadcast on didn't question his self-contradictary statements, just as he has continually "talked out his ass" time and time again without being called on it in any major media outlet. These fake journalists and fake news channel continue to use him without confronting him aren't even fooling their audience.

The bulk of Fox's audience can't even listen or watch any other news source. They say it is the only one not tainted with left-wing bias. This makes no sense considering the realities of the businesses that own the media outlets nor any analysis of their content. Instead of blaming Fox for their bogus product, we need to take our fellow citizens to task. The "news" program presents them the world they'd like to see, where idiot loudmouths bully intelectuals into oblivion. They must watch Fox to get this because the real world don't work like that. If they ever stopped to think about what they're watching, they'd have to admit that it is just re-inforcing their own mythology about the world. But this is like driving straight past your exit on a highway into the next state and continuing because you'd rather pretend you didn't make a mistake. Someone has to tell the idiot driver of that car to turn around.

American Exceptionalism and Defeatism

I can't find the guys name but I think it is Anatoly Levin (except that I also think that is the name of a deceased journalist, so don't hold me to the name) that was interviewed by Doug Henwood on yesterday's Behind the News on www.wbai.org or wbai in NYC 99.5 FM. He felt that their has sprung up an alliance of sorts within the American electorate between defeated cultures within the US. The mid-western protestant Christians and the Southern racists. He goes back to the passing of prohibition which he feels was essentially an anti-catholic movement as one expression of this mid-western group. He points to a feeling of defeat since the Catholic "invasion" among this group as well as the "attack" they feel from the cultural invasion initially from the eastern cities (but now obviously both coasts) which is lumped in with the bankers from the east and the intelectuals from eastern universitys and media centers. This sense of being defeated and being under attack is given a new outlet via Islam. The southern defeated culture is, still, the Civil War and slavery.

These "defeated" cultures share in the sense of American Exceptionalism, which is our sense that we somehow are the light of the world and servants of God and the bringer of progress and democracy and that our shit don't stink. With the sense of exceptionalism as a backdrop, these cultures that have already felt a sense of attack and defeat view all the attacking forces as essentially the same antagonists to their way of live. Thus, Ba'athist socialists, Iranian extremists, Palestinians, and Al Qaeda are all the same team. The possiblility that these had no connection or common ground and some even consider the others heretics in the most dangerous sense of the word just doesn't register within these American defeated cultuers. Now after Bush has invaded Iraq and these groups are begining to see us as their common enemy only confirms their collusion against us all along in the American "defeated" cultural mind. The war on terror being a war against liberals, all of Islam and any "enemy" is a war that these people have always been fighting and now just overtly.

A unique feature of American Exceptionalism is lack of a need to justify one's ideas. We are backed up by God. Along with that is the wacky idea that to this day God wants the Holy Land for the Jews alone. This idea has worked itself into the apocolyptic theology of the evangelical fundamentalists in my country with horrendous consequences. The extermination of the Palestinians by the Isrealis is not even a worry in this mind set. The possibility that our support for nothing that helps the Palestinian population might upset some muslims does not factor into the equation in their way of thinking. Muslims are evil, Holy Land for the Jews, where is there room for any debate? The fact that opportunistic politicians have seized upon these defects in the thinking of a segment of our population, essentially locking in their support, should have been anticipated.

The American Antithesis, and The Anti-Christ

American Exceptionalism is not just a feature of the redneck "defeated" fundamentalist hay-seed population. We Progressives have it, and either embrace it, ignore it, pretend it away, or stumble over it in failed attempts to conceal it. When teamed with the best of American ideals and, after exhaustive honest analysis, the ideals that truely founded our country, American Exceptionalism and American Idealism have been lights to the world and all the things we wish our country to be. It is from these traditions that we can restore our place in the world. But we need to sort out which of the ideas tossed around as all-American really are the real deal and which are "the American Antithesis" as the guest on yesterday's radio show called it.

There has been an attempt to portray the religious fanatics as the founders of our country. Such thinking would have the Salem witch trials as a foundation or our rich heritage. This is not the case. Our founding fathers do not include Cotton Mather. Jefferson, Washington, Franklin: these are the founders of our system. Our founding document is not a Bible but the constitution. There are ample quotes from our founding fathers on the nature of our state and the seperation of church and state and on the use of the millitary. To put it simply: our system is built on a mistrust of power and of state power especially, our country is to seek peace and good will amongst the peoples of the world, and that our's is not a Christian nation.

How can a group of Christians support a decidely non-Christian nation as envisioned by our founding fathers? I say it is the only kind one can support. In creating a peaceful nation where every citizen can petition the court for justice, and the right to practice religion as they see fit, and be free from invasion from the government into their own lives, the founding fathers set up a uniquely Christian nation in the most postive sense. It may be the first instance of which I'm aware of the use of a postive reinforcement governing system instead of a negatve enforcment.

Freedom of religion allows the perfect development of religious faith. No religious leader in a fundamentalist or authoritian tradition wants this. They want to tell you not just the order in which to read the bible (and has there ever been a bible study that read the bible from begining to end? NO, they always skip around to manipulate the book), but how to interpret the sentences. To that end each sect creates their own dubious learning institutions to reinforce their take on the book. I'd bet there are more bible college in the US than the rest of the world. While their students and adminstrators and donors and founders should thank God for the freedoms secured for them under the constitution, they do not. They scoff at the freedoms and point to fringe lifestyles they disagree with as the fruits of freedom, while ignoring their own beliefs as a fruit of freedom.

Those that would place a Bible as the highest law of the land over the constitution embrace the antithesis of America. It is progress of freedom, democracy, liberty, knowledge, art, and science that is at the heart of the American ideal. Finding ways to improve democracy so that more participate and more choice and better expression of that choice is the goal of democracy. Instead of special insterests seeking the patronage of their politicitans so that they can be freed from liability claims against them in court, America is unique in that it's founding is also based on any person being able to seek out a court and redress wrongs. Where other country's have regulatory agencies and complicated systems before commerce is engaged, American simply let shark and lion and sheep and deer out into the field of commerce and built a court system to sort of the good from bad.

So much of what we're being fed from the right is truely the American Antithesis: tort reform protecting business from people, destruction of civil liberties in the furtherance of an unending war, weaking of democracy or accoutabiilty, and the open mixing of a religion and government. Law suits are part of the American system, the problems blamed on them are scapegoats meant to protect special interests. Tort reform should mean more courts, more judges, more access to lawyers and clear laws and stiffer penalties on guilty businesses. Civil Liberties are quite simply the American way, any loss of them is a defeat of the greatest of American ideals. War is Unamerican as defined by the founding fathers, and pretending to have the remotest of possibilities that one could call a war just in the Augustinian sense is deeply unamerican because St. Augustine was not only a flawed theologian but not a founding father of our country. Holding politicians accoutable and forcing them to the public will is uniquely American and we have come so far from that ideal that we need to get to work there immediately. The rigging of elections is not almost impossible to stop, and if we can't take back our democracy and our country then we will have embraced the American Antithesis. Another consequence of politicians being unaccountable might be the potential connection to Dick Cheney's Energy Policy task force meeting and the attack on Iraq and thus the secrecy behind that meeting. We may never know if people don't stand up to "our leaders".

This American Antithesis wants to rule the world. This American Antithesis seeks only power, call it facsist or call it fundamentalist or imperialism or anything else. It's roots can be any of those and all of them. It is the tendency towards religious intolerance and it's use as a play for power amongst the Cotton Mathers that our founding fathers built their system to fight, even if that single tendency seems to be too small to be the big problem that we have today.

This blind lust for power that respects no freedom, no dissent, no thought that deviates from the goal of domination is decidedly anti-Christian. How did the religion founded by a man that protected a women about to be legally stoned to death for adultery, turn into the religion that wants to use the book of Leviticus as it's law? How did a personal code of conduct meant to bring one closer to peace and truth and God turn into a set of laws that a government can use against it's people. How did the uniquely anit-establishment religion that opposed both the church leaders and the global empire and the violence against them become the religion of "just wars" "family values" and the use of law and politics for the attainment of goals of a church? It didn't.

Christianity is still the bleeding-heart part of the left progressive populist world view. What we're facing today is uniquely anti-Christian in in fact Anti-Christ. The desire of the defeated American culture groups to forego waiting for the return of Warrior-Christ to exact the Saint's revenge on the forces of evil and embrace GW Bush's unending global war on terror, not even questioning his attack on Iraq when reason after reason and method after method has failed is uniquely anti-Christian and antichrist. Proping up this failure as the leader of the "free" world as he takes freedom after freedom away, excuses torture and trashes international treaties on war crimes and peace and weapons proliferation, as he raises crony-capitalism to not just new heights but supreme dominance, is truely anti-Christ. Jumping the gun on Christ's return and hoping, instead of on faith in Christ the Prince of Peace, on the death wagon of Bush the Prince of failure lies and hypocracy is antiChrist and that would make Bush an or the Antichrist.

I do not support the looking here and there for the return of Jesus as we know the Kingdom of God must be found within ourselves. This enlightenment as taught by Jesus unites the world as it is the same enlightenment of Love that Bhuddists, Christians, Jews, Muslims, Shintoists (Shintoistas? maybe not but I like that "word" better) Zoroastorians (I can't put an -ista on that word, it just don't work for me) Gnositics, and I'd even bet Atheists and Pagans are all united under. It is the same as the quantum connection that the Natural Law party envisions as governing us (my apologies if I don't get what the Natural Law party is about I'm into the Green Party). It is the unity in a search for peace that unites us: inner peace and outer peace.

The warmongers want to kill each other and those of the peace movement. Hatred for Liberals among the Ann Coulters and the Right wing lunatics is equalled by the "fatwas" issued againsts muslims that speak sense and serve the goal of God's Universal Peace. Those that used to laugh off the religious right as something less dangerous than Islamic extremeists were fools. It was the constitution that protected us from Jerry Falwell turning into Ossama Bin Ladin.

David Horowitz, and the Unholy Alliances made by Zionism

The idea that we are not building to a conflict of biblical apocalyptic proportions is just as willfully ignorant as those that continue to watch Fox News. I'm not saying God is keeping an agenda set by evil morons here on Earth, but the actors here among us have been setting this up.

This section of this blog I fear will sound anti-semitic or anti-Jewish, especially to those that equate the embrace of Zionism with support or tolerance of the Jewish religion or the existance of Isreal. In as much as no Zionist has to answer why their views isn't expressly anti-Irish or anti-Catholic, I'm not going to bother explaining myself after this paragraph. I have no stake in the existence or prosperity of Isreal as a nation. It exists and as such I feel it has a right to exist. I feel all identifiable populations deserve a nation of their own if they so desire. The Jewish people after WWII are not just "no exception" but an exception needed to be made to protect them from anti-semitism. Just like I had to make exceptions for my youngest daughter and my oldest daughter had to make concessions. Now my youngest freely walks up to the oldest and takes whatever toy she plays with. At some point I need to discipline and stop supporting my youngest's transgressions against my oldest. I can not excuse the events that have led us all to the edge of the most violent era in our species history, nor the actors that have led us here. I don't know nothing about Jewish culture or religion or history. I don't have to, I'm an American of Irish and German decent with all ties in my family going back within this country for well over 150 years, with my earliest ancestors coming here as Hessian soldiers. As we all know Zionism is not universally held by all Jewish groups I feel I can be as critical as the situation warrents and not be treading anywhere near antisemitism. Zionism is not integral to Jewishness nor is it only Jews that embrace it. I'd say Jerry Falwell is zionist, and he sucks too.

Zionism is the force behind the stealing of Palestinian homes by Jews going back to the 1940's. There are still homes today that people can point to and say "My family and I where pulled out of that home, our home, and beaten and told never to return upon penalty of death." These people had there household goods stolen, their food and everything else. Is this the will of God? Maybe in Leviticus, but St. Patrick didn't go around Ireland preaching the book of Leviticus, he preached the Gospel. Zionism caused the displacement of indigieous people and together with Islamic chauvanism and racism caused all the wars fought by Isreal. Zionists coluded with Nazi's to execute non-Zionist Jews and escape to the Holy Land. Zionist Christians see Isreal as the homeland of the Jews because it was so so long ago, while ignoring the Samaratans right to the land and anyone else that has a historic tie to the land. They do this inspite of all the warnings against Isreal in the old testement and by Jesus himself. They can't even put the story of the good Samaritan in a political context because of their blind alliegence to Zionism.

Those that see through the lie of Zionism and seek justice and peace in the world are attacked by it's supporters and it's equally violent and evil opponents in the Islamic world. In deed, one thing the Zionists, Christian fundamentalists, and Islamic fundamentalists can all agree on is that we people of peace are the enemy. But this too was predicted by Jesus. Those that are so quick to hide behind religion to justify their greed over land and their lust for killing and hating and revenge unify against the people serving and seeking God's Unifying Peace. Margret Hassan was killed by radical Islamic lunatics, but if she were back in her native Ireland, David Horowitz would say she was their ally. Ann Coulter would call her treasonous if she were American, and she'd probably call her that anyway.

If they call you immoral, evil, treasonous, traitorous, satanist or anything else you know the truth as it was written on your heart. We need to resist and stand up to their evil and their negativity and their divisivness. The time may come where we can not effectively stave off their hateful destructive agenda, so every fight is the place to fight the good fight. Vote counts, petitions drives, peace rallies, and every thing else you can do, but most of all speak your mind and speak truth to power. Truth will set you free.

Atheism, Religion, Truth, Science, Agonsticism, Unitarian-Univeralism

I've often felt that I'm a Christian for many of the same reasons that an Atheist can't embrace Christianity. The problems that so many pagans I've spoken with have with Christianity are some of the reasons I believe I'm a Christian. The reasons a scientist seeks ultimate truth through knowledge is the same goal I feel in my search through the artistic experience of music. Music for me is the direct conduit to God, or the ultimate way for me to pray when I'm being honest in my music. I see much similarity between Sufiism Gnositicism, Christianity, Unitarianism, Universalism, Quantum Theory, Zen, Atheism, Art, and so many other systems. I was always suspect when I saw my kids have to pick out the different thing among a group. You know the song from Seseme Street "One of these things doesn't belong here, one of these things is not like the others...."

It is the people of God that seek similarities, it is the anti-Christ's minions that seek differences. It is in our unity that we serve God or humanity or what ever you beleive if you are among us: those persecuted by fundamentalists of all kinds and Nazis and all evil. If you can not open yourself without resentment or anger or mistrust to each other in Love and in Peace and in Faith in each other as the ultimate expression of humanity and of service to God than you deny yourself at least in part to the ultimate experience of Truth. What we here in John Coltrane's music is the search for that goal. What we feel in meditation, or in dance or for some it may be sex, or in prayer or in feeding the hungry and healing the ill, is just a piece of our shared quantum reality. This truth that we're all discovering together is only available to us to think about as an idea or a goal because we've had freedom to persue it. Freedom of Religion and of speech and of the persuit of hapiness. That is why freedom and democracy and our constitution are in deed in service to God. We judge them by the fruits they bear, and our Unity and our Love are their fruits. We must move fast though, because the opponents of Prorgress to whom my blog sounds like hate or evil or stupidity or foolishness or an obstacle to their goals will not rest until the Unfolding Truth that we are stumbling towards is shut down, or until they are defeated with Truth and Love or by Christ's True Return which might just be in response to their exalting of Bush or Bin Ladden to that throne. Make no mistake about it, they are mearly to faces of the same demon. They families have done business together for years and are unified in their exploitation of global hate.

You don't have to buy all the Christian imagery that I use, but the actions of the warmongers make it all the more appropriate. Besides, we must all speak the same languages to communicate be it Love or Algebra or Music or English or French to get our points across. The enemy speaks a very twisted version of Gospel, we should embrace the version that lead to our enlightened and freedom loving lifestyles, and not be afraid of that which was truely started by Jesus so long ago. I don't see social or economic justice, abolition of slavery, civil liberities, public accoutability without the movement started by Jesus so long ago. Don't confuse the fundamentalist version of his message with the one meant for you. There are many translations of Gospels and I know one will ring true in your heart and enrich the way you view your own faith or belief or lifestyle. Then one more wall between you and Unity will be torn down, or to us a Zen idea: you will have passed through a gateless gate, a barrier that as it turns out is not there at all. There is only the Truth of Unity and Love, attacked by the lie of division and hate. We are United in God and Humanity.

If you stumbled in here hoping to find another fractured interpreation of the Bible that excuses capital punishment or slavery, well: maybe God has a plan for you and it starts with this blog. And if the "Hayseed" comment hurts, my apologies: but let's get past that and serve Peace and Love in Unity Together.

Isn't this what Stalin did periodically? Can anyone that supported Bush tell me why this is good, or why the Torture guy should be attorney general?

Shouldn't we want the most experienced people in the CIA? Who will replace these guys they are purging? I wonder if there is no need for experienced CIA people anymore since Bush only wants fabricated intel to serve his political agendas and is shifting the role of the CIA towards more domestic surveilance. Don't be surprised if you get some new faces in your local peace group's meetings.

You do participate in a local peace group, on occassion anyway, right? You should, especially now. It will give more work to these guys that are keeping track of us. We can't any of us try to blend in with the crowd and wait this police state out. We can't, because it won't end if we do. It might not end anyway but for God's sake and our children's sake we must resist the end of freedom that Bush will certainly seek in the name of the never-ending war on "terror".

We also must fight the Torture Guy's nomination as Attorney General, and fight everything Bush tries to pull. He isn't a legitmate president, and you must have faith that what you know in your heart is true. So many suspected he stole it. All you have to do is read up and see which evidence of trickery seems legit and which might not. There may be some anomolies that can be explained but too many are being found that don't pass any scrutiny.

How much easier will it be for our side to move foward if we can show that the election was stolen and Bush is not legit?

The torture guy has to be oppossed and prevented from becoming Attorney General. This guy was also the general consul to Enron, so not only does he think the Geneva Convention is "quaint", think about ways to get away with torture, fails to understand that tortured testimony is useless, but he is party to corporate crime. This guy will be worse than Ashcroft.

Call your senators and them to just say no to the torture guy that also worked for Enron. Filibuster the guy if that is what it takes. There is no point if just fighting the supreme court nominee, especially when one isn't even on deck-- who knows maybe it will be Ron Kubi or Johnny Cochran.

Also, he has never tried a case nor every had anything published in a legal journal, was the advocate for keeping Cheney's energy meeting participants secret, removed the Bar Association from the Judicial Nominee process, was the guy that selected the monsters that the Bush administration nominated as federal judges that the democrats filibustered last year. If they filibustered those guys they have to filibuster this guy that chose them.

Torture isn't torture unless it rises to organ failur or death, that is the view of this guy. That has never been a definition of torture and this guy is evil. We neeed to light a fire under the democrats ass and send him packing.

Friday I said I'd post a draft letter to send to all democratic senators asking them to object to the election. We should also send it to democratic congressional representatives-- all of them. We should send something to state and county election officials but I'm no where near to getting that done.

I've had a real problem in that my furnace died Friday or possiblely thursday. I've not had any time. But we need to work and fight the stolen election

It will do little good, but we need a big pile of "little good" before we might find something that will do any real good.

They can object in writting in a tag team manner were one senator and one rep must co-sign an objection. At least that is how I read it. I honestly can't make much sense out if it, and it seems that nothing actually comes from the objection. But just as we can not deny God without doing a greater harm, we can not deny the truth and here the truth is that Bush stole the election again.

On the sixth of January, you will have an opportunity to object in writing to the presidential election. It is becoming more and more clear that the election was stolen by a whole assortment of dirty tricks in Florida, Ohio and New Mexico and probably other places. The chief culpret, but certainly not the only, is the electronic voting machines that were made by a company whose owner promised to deliver Ohio for Bush. I am sending this letter begging you to object in that manner and in every other way possible. The future of our democrcay is in great peril and this is no time to regroup and wait till next election.

The suspicions about the voting machines were ignored by those in power to solve the problem before it happened. Now we have been handed the very result that the machines critics have predicted. Are we to pretend the machines gave us valid and untampered vote tallys? The numbers them selves don't add up, with some machines registering a negative number of votes, some machines losing votes as their capacity was exceeded, and some districts registering not even one vote for president. And these are just the problems that have become common knowledge. A fair investigation will certainly show even more.

We deserve better. We can not tolerate fake elections run by partisan hacks seeking reward for their misdeeds with no fear of consequences, in rigged machines made by partisan politcal donors. This is not democracy and we would be doing a diservice to God and our country to pretend it is. I beg you as a Senator to stand up for our democracy before these machines institute a virtual dictatorship. The time to fight was four years ago, but the time to give up or regroup is not now.

Thank you for you time, but now please work hard and fight back while there is still something to fight for.

That link (right click and read it then comment here if you feel it), is a bad sign. The "market" may have rallied round Bush (but Marx even said that capitalism needs war), but perhaps the world is seeing that our endless war and death will make us a less certain bet than say Europe finaincially.

OK, as we remember from the last time Bush stole a presidential election the senate has to give the process it's blessing. We should start our activism there-- I'm not saying it will do any good but that plus everything else we can do may make a difference. We need to write letters to each senator, maybe just the democrats. I'll try to draft one tonight or if anyone wants to go ahead and do it I'll post it or you guys post it and we'll all work off it (it just is easier that way) and I'll try to post the addresses. Next we should contact every election official via letter.

A telephone call deluge should be coordinated to these same offices, and at least two should be schedualed. We should between those phone campains initiate a newpaper, TV and Radio contact campain alerting others to the telephone campain.

Everyone that voted for Kerry should realize that their choice was stolen from them and we need to do this. If you took the time to vote then these small steps are not so tough.

This is not a time for for the slow to be slow or sidetracked the future depends on this, and the Will of God is such that we didn't do enough to stop Bush and we will have to do more to gain any favor or blessing for our country. We can't sit back and let evil reign. We do not accept fascism or teft of our nation's soul, there is too much at stake.

For those that felt there was too little difference between Bush or Kerry (or Gore and Bush) I've got the difference to trump all others: Bush is a theif twice and a bold faced liar. Gore nor Kerry have lied the way Bush has nor stolen as Bush has. We need to restore dignity and fair play to our presidency by not accepting this lie that Bush and his minions are telling us. We know better and we die a little inside if we swallow these lies.

For the good of your soul and your mind and your health you can not allow anyone to pretend Bush is a legitimate president. God expects more from us than to turn away from the truth. It would be a sin committed by an entire nation if we let this teft go, because so many more will die with bush as president: here with the environmental degradation, and we don't know if it will be Syria or Iran or Venezuela or Chiapas or anywhere else there is oil or natural gas or anything to feed the Bush demon's hunger.

We know Bush stole the election again. Everything points to it. Go to Greg Palast's web site which might have even more now that It did. But it is clear: Florida, Ohio and New Mexico had significant tampering to supress and undercount Kerry votes. The fix was in all along.

We need to send letters to everything thing that has an address, call everything that has a phone number and get out and fight this. This is Bullshit and we need to take the country back. The majority doesn't support Bush and the war mongers or the destruction of the constitution. Organize and Agitate people, now.

Yeah, this is what the fix would look like. The electronic voting machines that were made by a guy that promised to deliver a bush victory did just what they were supposed to do.

We are in for four more years of absolute economic failure for working families, four more years of hate as the number one family value, the end of the constitution, more Gerrymandering, more torturing of the census data to disguise the true population distribution in the country, four more years of more cartels and monopolies, four more years of selling out our manufacturing and jobs overseas, four years of environmental degredation at a pace we've never even imagined, and for those of us in the northeast four years of the worst tax dollars out/fed services in ratio ever. If you thought it was a bad joke that Wyoming got more counter-terrorism money than New York, well that was the warm-up act: the big punch lines are just getting loaded up.

I might blog two or so more times and that will be it. We failed and we lost and we will be worse off for it. False Theocracy has won over Jeffersonian Democracy. The greedy ruling class in alliance with the racist and fear-filled red-neck south and cowboy west has defeated people of good will in perhaps the worst defeat for the North in the civil war that as it turns out never really ended for the south.

The real problem we face is that the south will never vote for someone that doesn't walk and talk redneck. The stupid will always hate the smart, and the bullies will always have their chubby and soft cheerleaders that get vicarious thrills like everyday was football sunday.

The cheerleader phoney man defeated the veteran real man. When I did my time in the Navy, it sort of forged me into the man I am. That, plus being raised in a working class town in a family that had served in all the ways that serving means (millitary and civil and elected) made a definition in my mind of what a "man" is supposed to be. I don't toss the word around lightly and have met very few men since leaving the millitary. When I got out of college I started to get the sneaking suspicion that "men" were a thing of the past and the future was being taken over by something much less. G.W. Bush represents all that isn't "man" and is something much less: all posing, and that being born on third base pretending to have hit a triple smugness that should be easy to see through.

It is not fault if most people in this country don't want to see through it. It is not my fault that so many people are to stupid to notice they were lied to when they changed Ossama into Saddaam, or love into hate, or greed into good. I don't feel sorry for the stupid. They are stupid and they drag us all down. They are too stupid to even know they suffer, so it is left for us how know better to suffer in their stupidity. The people that held back your algebra and geometry classes in high school with lame question after question because they just didn't, and never were going to, get it voted for Bush in the same manner they called 180 degrees a right angle or Lincoln the second president or 1066 the year of the Magna Carta. G.W. Bush is the perfect president for such stupidity and we'll just have to suffer further till God smacks the smugness off their face and show the falsely faithful what they were supposed to be humble about and loving and forgiving of.

The worst part is: if you think we had to work hard to try to un-fuck the country after four years of this crap, we haven't seen the steepest hill nor the blizzard of lies that will be in our way four years from now. The racist south will be stronger, the red neck west will be more deeply intrenched, the permanent oligarchy will be more powerful and the unions will be weaker and less organized. Your rights to petition the courts will be weaker, your rights against search and seizure will be weaker, your health and your children's health will be weaker, the future for all but the ruling class will be dimmer. The fight will be more desparate and more impossible. May God have mercy and grant us the strength to serve the will of peace and truth and love everywhere we must.

Oh! And all this is true even if Kerry wins Ohio, just a little less desperate.

It seems that Republicans hate democracy. The only people I've ever heard point out that we have a republic and not a democracy are republicans, but that is a real small point when considering the recent events and the last presidential election. They seek to turn voting into a fight in too many places, pull more cheap tricks and dirty tactics than we could probably ever fully document, and have a vested interest in low voter turn out in almost every district. We need to see such tactics for what they are and either force-- both people with in republican party and outside-- the republicans to abandon such evil nonsense our disgard them to the dust bin of history. Just as when I was a kid everyone suspected that the voting for the communist party was like voting for maybe never ever voting again, we need to see that the republicans are now essentially voting so that many of us may never vote again. These overt tricks make it easy to overlook the tricks they pulled with redistricting (Gerrymandering) and manipulating the census data to give disproportionately high representation in areas where they are stronger. All of this must be corrected, but we must do more. We need to: make voting more meaningful to those that don't like "either" canidate (even my choice of words betrays the common good for the conventional "wisedom" of the two party system), make voting easier for those that don't vote often enough to have the routine down, open up the primary system so that we get canidates that matter, eliminate the influence of money on the process in all the ways it ruins it, amd make our representatives more responsive to us.

I'll finish this up later if I can. If I don't get to it right away and it turns out that Bush stole the election again, I might do it from Canada or Amsterdam or some place that will have me .

Oh, and by Smile! already. The record is great and regardless of who wins you'll really enjoy it after you vote. Duvdevan picked it up and loves it also. Really, it don't matter if you like the Beach Boys or not, Burt Bacharach or not, pop music or not, heavy meatal or not: this record transcends all that. It really makes Pets Sounds look a bit like Surfer Girl in terms of the Brian Wilson trajectory of music.
